Ephesians 3:20
Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us.
History
In 1997 Don and Linda Hayes traveled halfway around the world to attend a four day conference for high school students in Uganda Africa hosted by Mrs. Museveni the wife of the President of Uganda. It was a powerful event reaching out and helping hundreds of students. At the end of the event Don was approached by a boy/young man asking for money. Guests attending the event had been warned about handing money to the children in need. Don looked at the boy and replied to the young man, “You ask that nice lady over there,” pointing to Brenda, “if she says it is okay to give you money, we will talk about it.” Not only did this boy talk to the lady, he convinced her to follow him back to talk to Don again. Brenda explained to Don that the young man was not just asking for money, but for tuition to attend a private high school. At the young age of 13, this boy, who was trying to become a man, knew that he had no hope of improving his life if he attended public schools in Uganda.
Don recognized the tenacity of the young man and knew this was the work of God. Don Hayes himself had grown up in hard times. Post-depression era in Pennsylvania made for little opportunity. . Don worked hard against all odds to put himself through college. On that day Don and Linda Hayes made the commitment to Darlington Wamala, that young man, to help him attend private school in exchange for regular updates of his grades achieved. As Darlington Wamala grew into a man, he decided that he wanted to be a minister for God. The Hayes worked with Darlington and the Hayes’ contacts in Washington to bring him to the U.S. to attend a theological college. The process was almost complete when 9-11 happened, so Darlington had to attend college in Africa.
In 2005, while still in college, this boy, who was now a man, founded the Real Church of God with merely three people under a tree. From that little tree in Africa with little more than determination, humility and his love the Lord, Pastor Darlington Wamala led thousands to our Lord. And from that little tree in Africa in a very short ten years the Real Church grew into a stick building with dirt floors and used aluminum roofing full of holes and two services every Sunday with over 750 people, standing room only. Don and Linda Hayes knew at that time it was time to find a rock to build a church on. So, land was purchased and in 2016 construction began. Growing pains, conflict with the government, unforeseen costs and the determination of everyone and the help of engineer Emmanuel Ssali has led to the construction of The Real Church that can hold 1000 people, which has led to housing for an orphanage of 30 children, which has led to a school building busting at the seams with 200 students.
So, stop and listen, right here right now, you are here for a reason. You are the exponential component. So, stop and listen to your heart, your passion, your purpose and BE THE CHANGE IN OUR WORLD.
