Our Mission
The mission of the Real Church is to be more than just a building by continuing to deliver God’s people from the devil’s hands and lead them in the ways of Jesus Christ through Outreach Ministry, Baptism, and Discipleship.
The church is completely stand alone and has no formal affiliation with any others. Its only support comes from this web site.
Our History
The foundation of the church is the beginning of a ministry. The church is where the ministry of Jesus Christ is achieved. While still in Bible College, Pastor Darlington Wamala, began a church in 2005 with 3 people under a tree. By 2012, his love for the Lord, determination and humility grew this church to 2 services each Sunday with 750, standing room only, in attendance. The church structure was rudimentary at best. A dirt floor, recycled aluminum roof, filled with past nail holes and wood structure with open sides Pastor Wamala led thousand to the Lord. It was time to build a church. Land was purchased and in 2016 construction began. Engineer Emmanuel Ssali was hired for the design and construction. Engineer Ssali was sent from the Lord. He has become a friend to both Pastor Wamala and Don Hayes. Additionally he has become an important mentor to Pastor Wamala and the church.
After several false starts construction finally began in June 2016. We had a plan and a budget which included the purchase of a truck to move supplies. The plan was approved by the government. The building was sized to fit 400-500 people. On one of the government inspections, they said this structure can hold 1000 people, and so we needed to make additions to the building to accommodate that extra capacity.
As construction continued, the government inspectors were requiring additional construction changes from the initial plan - such things as large drainage ditches with stone linings, different roofing requirements (doubling the cost of the roof) and several other improvements to the Property. In addition to building a church, we built a children’s room, dug a well, dug sanitation and built a toilet building, a security building, an office, a water tank, installed electricity, and purchased additional land adjacent to the church.
Finally on December 3, 2017 Real Church had its first service. From December 2017 through all of 2018 over 1000 people prayed to receive Christ and over 400 were baptized. Pastor Wamala has a heart for the lost.
Many people accept Christ and never change. In Uganda people agree to follow Christ, yet they sometimes don’t give up what they are already doing, such as witchcraft. In addition to the weekly church services, the church has small groups of 10 for 10 weeks, each led by a church leader, discipling them on what it means to be a follower of Christ. No one can be a leader in the church without completing this course. The 10 week classes are where they are taught how to follow Christ and why and how to give up witchcraft. Lives and families are being changed.
What We Do
In Uganda people agree to follow Christ, yet they sometimes don’t give up what they are already doing, such as witchcraft. The 10 week classes are where they are taught how to follow Christ and why and how to give up witchcraft. Lives and families are being changed.
Pastor Wamala does many other ministry outreaches, including:
16 satellite churches in other villages with ministers from Real Church.
Four times a year, 3 day conferences are held at the church where sometimes as many as 10 other pastors come to help with the conferences.
Crusades in outlying Villages, far from major cities, where many pastors of churches in these villages organize 3 day Crusades, of which Pastor Wamala is the lead pastor.
College Student Ministry at the main university in Kampala.
Prison Ministry once a month.
Hospital Ministry twice a month Twice a month the Church members do door to door ministry in the villages near the church.
In addition to the weekly church services, the church has small groups of 10 for 10 weeks, each led by a church leader, discipling them on what it means to be a follower of Christ.
Our Needs
The day to day expenses of the church are being met by the church members. Uganda is in the lower 10% of the poorest countries in the world. The average monthly income ranges from $6 a day to $23 a day - yet very few of the Real church members are at the $23 per day.
